El gato de Sevrés
El gato de Sevrés by Marco Almazán (México) describes an antique collectors attempt to doop a shopkeeper into selling him a valuable piece of French porcelain for next to nothing. By feigning interest in a dirty, old cat that is eating from the plate, the collector hopes to buy the cat and get the plate for free by acting as though he is unaware of its worth. In the end, we learn that the shopkeeper is actually very perceptive and has made a lot of money by selling cats to overzealous collectors who think that they can trick him into giving him the valued antique plate. A comical twist of an ending makes this story fun and surprising for the reader.
